About Us

“The Marlborough East Neighborhood Association has been working for years to address quality of life issues in their neighborhood. Borne out of that process came the vision for what Marlborough East has for the future of their community. The three drivers for their neighborhood vision are: environmental stewardship, conservation and public safety. The outcome of such a broad vision is a focus on many projects in the neighborhood, but the program that ties these projects together is called 21st Century Blockwatch. The focus of the 21st Century Blockwatch program is to empower communities with technology and tactics to help them more effectively achieve their public safety goals. 

In Marlborough East the first event to kick off their enrollment in the program is going to be on Tuesday, January 30th at 3:15 pm. Sgt Rauzi will be bringing the KCPD drone to do a flyover of vacant land in the neighborhood that was recently acquired from the City for the installation of an urban farm. In addition to this use of technology, the neighborhood will be hanging security cameras to mitigate illegal dumping on the Land Bank lots in their neighborhood. The use of cameras for gathering data and to catch perpetrators in the act of dumping in the neighborhood is a priority for Marlborough East and is their way of bringing their existing neighborhood crime watch into the 21st century.”
